Until now, I've been trying to limit myself to read one book until I finish it. But the thing is, sometimes I don't feel like reading that book, lol. To the guys who read multiple books at a time, what is the number you limit yourself to? I think I'll shoot for reading 3 at a time.

Start and end with Jordan Peterson (PBUH)

Depends entirely on how much free time I have. If I'm going to read a book (excluding things like short stories and poetry collections) I need to be able to give it at least 30-40 pages a day.

This and I may add that gets much slower when I read in a different language

Technically, I've never finished a book in my life... What should I feel?

3 max, usually two (one paper and one on ereader), and i try to make sure they're different language, genre or type so i dont get memory glitches later.

6 or 7: three quick ones, three slow, and a super slow hateread.

2 but always of different genres. I usually read one book on history/politics/philosophy and some fiction book on the side

Two, one serious book and one guilty pleasure for when I don't feel like thinking about shit too damn much.

Only ever two, one non-fiction that takes focus and one fiction that I can read to relax or pass time.
Currently it’s Moby Dick & The Republic on rotation.

It can also be fun to play around with matching the two books in different ways. An obvious example is reading a book about Napoleon while reading War & Peace, but there are endless ways to do it.

One. I want to focus all my attention on one thing at a thing. Works best for me.

Yes absolutely! I remember having a blast reading Grapes of Wrath and reading Nietzche. Drawing the parallel of unused fallow land being a sin akin to people not fulfilling their potentials. Because of technology and immediate answers we lose the ability to make links and connections something that algorithms will never be able to do. I’m admitted a bit of a pseud but it’s fun learning and making odd and (hopefully) original thoughts.

“that man could know how a fallow field is a sin and the unused land a crime against the thin children.”

it depends on the length and how different the books are. Typically, if a book exceeds 500 pages I’ll read another one simultaneously.

Two or three. I have these broad and sometimes overlapping categories. First book is something that will help me refine my politcal and philosophical stances, second one is just something generally /lit/ and number three something purely entertaining that takes zero effort to digest that I will read in bed before falling asleep. If number one or two happens to be an easy enough read I'll probably leave it at two books.

I goble it up in a day or two. So answer is one.
