Unironically this.

All the characters struggle with self expression and are incapable of fitting in with society around them. There's an essay if you have a Jstor account called Autistic Gestures in "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter" by Frances Freeman Paden which is all about autism in the novel. I don't think any of the characters are directly autistic but they display characteristics.

Also I wouldn't expect to be cured by the novel but you might find comfort in relating to the experiences of the characters, good luck op!

What is there to cope about? I have aspergers too, and I consider it a gift. I also have ADD, but that shit is a curse, literally just making me unfocused for no reason whatsoever.
You're just different mentally, cherish that instead of whining about wanting to be this or that.

First off, get a proper diagnosis. No, you cannot diagnose yourself.
Second, how about a book on nature? A Sand County Almanac, by Aldo Leopold, is a wonderful look at the natural world around us, as well as the role humans play in it. Historically speaking, it's one of the more important books on conservation out there. Plus, that goose looks fucking ridiculous. Just look at it.
