>Witnesses many evil worshippers of the Hindu Gods pillaging villages in an age where the strongest alone survived
>Makes up a supreme deity and his evil counterpart during his schizophrenic bouts
>Renames the God Indra to Angra Mainyu and proceeds to demonize all the followers of the old faith of Daevas
>"Polytheism is... le BAD!"
Why is everything related to abrahamic religions inherently retarded?

Zoroaster was rebelling against Proto-Indo-Iranian religions, which predated Hinduism, and this occurred somewhere around Transoxiana around 1000 BCE.

Actually, it hard to tell from the Gathas, which is the only part supposedly going back to Zoroaster, whether Zoroastrianism was originally a ditheism, henotheism, or monotheism. The Sassanids also debated cosmogony a lot.

It's pretty clear that the pseudo-atheist sterile worldview that Abrahamic religion posits does not apply to Zoroastrianism, however. If you can have a meal with the transcendent spirit of war and get it to do stuff in return for you doing stuff, it's polytheism, you're just quibbling about what title you give the biggest God.

My philosophy is that the One God is the Abrahamic God, and we are all part of It. In short, Abrahamic pantheism.
