Does the word "nigger" have literary merit?

>> No.19004229

yes, merely saying it is a revolutionary act

Niggardly

You would be hard pressed to find a canon-tier work of literature from the last 200 years that does not have the word nigger somewhere within.

>> No.19004320

it was hardly a bad word. just slang that got associated with MUH OPPRESSION in the 60’s and then millennials were brainwashed into thinking say it is literally murder

Stop being a cringe fencesitter
It was always used in a disparaging way.

Yes, but it gets better if you say like it was originally, i.e., Negro.

Jules Vernes is the best when it comes to this.

Here's a thought:
* Write a fantasy novel
* Have Race A and Race B
* Race A looks down on Race B
* (Possibly justifiably)
* Race A calls Race B "Niggers"

Take Tolkien's world. In reality, you bet the elves would have a term for non-elves, and it would be mildly (or not so mildly) disparaging. (Maybe JRRT invented such a word, but I don't know his language stuff well enough.)

You could say, elves calling men "niggers" would have the right connotations.

My guess is this would be considered a Very Good Thing if Race A was shown to be in the wrong, but a Very Bad Thing if they were shown to be in the right. If you wrote the book so it was sort of balanced, the cancel crowd wouldn't know what to think.

You can't write it in a balanced way therefore canceled. Better luck next time.

Why would one need to talk to a escarumba to know if the term «nigger» was used in a disparaging or non-disparaging way before or during the 60's

>> No.19006192

>>19004575

You were taught that it was used in a disparaging way. It was no different than spaniard, chinaman, or polack.There’s the difference.

>> No.19006294

>>19006098
Why is that necessary?
>>19006192
It was intended to be derogatory long before the 60s. Go read a book retard. Why are you disputing this obvious fact? What are you trying to achieve here?
