Is this the ultimate “touch the grass” novel?
Every chapter is an ever growing fuck you to anyone who tries to over-interpret art

Don Quixote

No it's about the pleasure of reading, which in itself is not incompatible with complex interpretations of art. Him and other members of the Oulipo created far more complex novels (not to say that they are better or that If on a winter's night is not complex).
Thanks for making your post OP, I'm going to reread some pages of Calvino tonight, it will be comfy.

only if they are stupid enough to try and interpret it as a traditional plot driven novel. As a while it gives a great deal of leeway for interpretation.

I still want to know what the inspiration for the japanese erotic part was.

I don't know what you mean by inspiration...every other section was supposed to be in a specific literary genre, so I'm assuming that there exists a [past] tradition of Japanese stories in which there were sexual escapades of that nature.

Which novels?

False post-irony poisoning I'm afraid. It's effecting more and more people everyday.

Maybe read the book before trying to understand someone's opinion on it?

I stopped reading because the book thought it was smarter than me.

What do you mean with this? Don Quixote absolutely allows the reader to interpret the story in multiple ways
