reading level is an indication of common/uncommon verbiage being used, not of writing ability

>> No.18784790

>>18784785
also you're esl, so no. you are not going to make it.

Usually means that your text is unnecessarily obtuse. If you know the subject you're talking about then you usually can write in a lower level.

>>18785436
Better is to get the point across with as low level as possible. It is easy to write any text at college level and filled with excessive technical verbiage and pleonasm. It doesn't make it better.

probably you're right
that's what makes the stranger and hemingway's works unique
anyway here are the levels that I got for passages from different books
>romeo and juliet 11-12th grade
>moby dick college freshman
>infinite jest college graduate
it's kinda weird considering that I have a harder time reading romeo and juliet that moby dick or infinite jest

All of my texts are college level when I write in my local language or if I just got my keyboard randomly.

I have a natural talent for writing dense and difficult-to-read prose.

Tip to write college level prose: never use punctuation and also write without most spaces between words. Skip every 2 spaces or something. Aslo neverfix anytypos justwrite withoutpunctuation andwith everyotherormore spacesremoved andthrowin nonsensewordslike humoraphelogimathephyla

If you’re an ESL not from Europe, South America, or East Asia, I could understand why you’d be hung up on your English language skill. But I don’t understand why ESLs from those places care about their English skills unless you just really love English. You already have a vast body of literature in your own language.
