I am going to write a book

I'd recommend starting with short stories, bro.

49% of aspiring writers fail because they attempt writing novels right away and either get frustrated halfway through or give up after their debut effort got turned down.

50% fail because they get a gf/wife and get pussy-whipped into NPC wageslavery to provide.

Same. My post-modern loli gorn psychothriller based on an Internet creepypasta isn't going to write itself.

What does writing a short story have to do with this? You could easily get frustrated over writing short stories and give up. Plus, there was a big short story industry in the 19th and 20th centuries while novels were booming. That is not the case today. Unless you really want to write a short story, I don’t see why you should have to.

It's like attempting 100 pushups before you're comfortable with 10. Short stories are the perfect fiction writing practice, send them to competitions and you'll get early (and hugely beneficiary) feedback for minimum effort. Otherwise you may end up with 300 pages of amateurish, self-centred, purple-prosed yet shallow shit. Many such cases!

Me too, but first I need to spend a decade learning english and writing short stories
