Gains are a wordly illusion that do nothing but provide illusory fulfillment. Michael Phelps talked about how he went into a deep depression after every olympics - why? Because gains are bs.

You don't get much, if anything, out of it. DESU, it tends to get worse really. As I grow older, reading has become more and more disturbing (unsettling). But I do something that allows me to 'capture' other people inside my head. And after I'm done with them, I somewhat create a mental 'simulated mind' that I can use as I see fit. Those are my 'gains', but you can also just read things for fun.

you sound mentally ill, stop manifesting tulpas out of the books you read and maybe it won't unsettle you anymore retard

Read all of this and then maybe you'll be ready for the Romans. This is what starting with the Greeks means. It's the equivalent of getting your bench to 1 pl8 or making your first Uniswap trade.

the good ones being subjective to whoever has a bigger literary energy than you, and is able to back it up.
if two intelligent people meet one of them is either less/more intelligent that the other or they're on the same level, in general.
If you're an idiot you won't get this, but many a pride has been hurt by a better read and more intelligent person just existing, conversing, being around someone of less such gains.
It's pride, really, which is experience, knowledge, argumentation, charisma, guise, computative intellect - improvisation, lying -- stuff like that.

/lit/ gains is pride which is neither worldly nor bodily, neither biz nor lit, yet throughoutly just lit, as described above.
here you have the negative and positive definition.

>Soma Sema. So tell me anon, what do you achieve by lifting weights in the gym all day?
First of all, you don't have to sit in the gym "all day" in order to have a strong, capable, and aesthetic body. An hour or so per day a few days per week with a balanced diet and some cardio will make you stronger and better than any dyel layman. Educating your mind without training your body is as inferior as training your body without educating your mind. Either way you are an incomplete man. Lifting and running allows you to more easily manipulate your environment, it gives you discipline, it makes you healthier and more likely to age gracefully, it makes you more attractive and more likely to find a superior mate, etc. You really can't argue against physical fitness and defend intellectual fitness simultaneously, the arguments for either are identical because they are both inherently linked.

And to add to this, physical fitness makes you more beautiful, which is a moral good. To purposefully neglect your body and choose to be uglier is immoral.
