Are there any books on the topic of reincarnation, rebirth (in the proper buddhist sense), transmigration of the soul etc.?
Im looking for anything on the topic, from philosophy, metaphysics, to case studies of evidence on it.

I have personal experiences with people that make me believe that reincarnation is real.

When a niece of mine visited the house that my grandmother lived and died in, she said "I remember this house, this is where i died once". This was in the exact room where my grandmother died, and my niece was born like 1 year after my grandmother died, mind you.

The Bardo Thodol is part of a larger text, the Profound Dharma of Self-Liberation through the Intention of the Peaceful and Wrathful Ones. It IS "Orthodox Buddhism" for many Buddhists.

Buddhists don't believe in reincarnation, they believe in rebirth. There's a difference. Reincarnation implies a discrete soul that is incarnated in a different body. Re-in-carn-ation = a re incarnation = another incarnation, an incarnation is placing something in a caro (a body). But what is placed in the body? The discrete unchanging soul.

Buddhists reject the idea that anything is discrete or unchanging. They totally believe in souls, but rather the soul is also non-discrete and it too changes. Rebirth is essentially the constant Ship-Of-Theseus-ing that continues to occur after death. You know how you replace all of the atoms in your body every eight years (this isn't actually true but it works)? It's basically that, but for more than just atoms.

Anyways the Jataka Tales are "Orthodox Folklore" of the Buddha detailing a bunch of his past lives. You can find a lot of "proofs" of rebirth/reincarnation from Buddhist/Hindu countries; very little of it is in English. Frankly, it's the Dharmic equivalent of Kansas housewives finding Jesus in their toast: you don't need "proof", you either find the argument convincing or you don't because the system you're trying to "prove" is trying to explain phenomena that you're experiencing. Jesus on your toast and some 7 year old reciting the Pali Canon from memory are both phenomena that happen, the question is WHY they happen.

The Buddha argues that Rebirth is constantly happening every second. How we're Reborn, however, varies through our lives, and after we die.

That's what the OP says.

This is the only case study I know of but there are probably more. Look into "parapsychology"
I don't put too much stock into it, but they're at least attempting to be scientific
