I'm writing a book about Christian mystics and heretics and the fine line between the two. I need a good title for the book but can't think of anything. Any suggestions?

Not bad but it's a bit wordy. I was thinking Free Spirits, with a subtitle. Maybe Between Heresy and Orthodoxy could be the subtitle actually.

Absolutely, unequivocally cringe. Just use your real name or come up with a pseudonym that sounds like it could be a real person's name. This is "dark enlightenment" garbage.

That's gonna be the focus of the latter half of my book, especially the Shakers (honestly fascinating- they revered Mother Ann, their leader, as the second coming of Christ and believed God was Man and Woman combined); and the ideas of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young

Reminds me of “a maze without a center” from a Father Brown story.

Your subject reminds me most obviously of the verse about the strait and narrow. There are a lot of different ways of falling into error and lots of instances of false followers of Christ, you could cherry pick from any of those verses if you think the heresy angle will sell more copies than focusing on those who got it right. Sadly this is probably the case.
> Do not imagine that we have need of a cabalistic formula or any other occult or mysterious thing to attain it our whole welfare consists in doing the will of God.
St. Teresa quote that stuck with me.

>6 heretics

This makes me think that OP could potentially write a history of mysticism and mystical heresies that's somewhat structured like Plutarch's Lives of the Noble Grecians and Romans. Famously, Plutarch will write his histories of notable Greek and Roman figures by paralleling them, and positioning the earlier, Greek figure paired up with the later, Roman figure with whom he has some similarity. For example, the "Life of Demosthenes" is written, and it is immediately followed by the "Life of Cicero." Or the "Life of Alexander" being immediately followe by the "Life of Caesar."

OP could do something similar with mystics and heretics, contrasting the life of someone who was mystical, but remained faithful to the Church, with someone who was mystical and ultimately rejected the Church.

Unless you're specifically writing about the Free Spirit Heresy turn choose something else. The Heresy of the Free Spirit by Robert Lerner is already a classic of that field
