I always get in a bad mood whenever I think about my love life or I should say my lack thereof. I try not to think that way but feel like a failure whenever i think about how I am still a virgin at 22 years old. I feel less than human, I can't even satisfy one the basic need of any species: to reproduce.

I have somewhat of an excuse, I've struggled with anxiety and depression ever since I was 13-14 years old although there was a few sign of it prior to that when I think about it. I am better now though. After 2 different therapist and a few years on meds (prozac), I can hold conversation with strangers and not felle like an absolute trainwreck in public.

Problem is, I fail to build intimacy with strangers. I already have a group of friends , so not making any new friends doesn't bother as much , but the girlfriend aspect bothers me a lot not only on a level of me trying to satisfy a basic need but I can tell that my family and friends find it weird as fuck that I am still a virgin. It's a mixture of not knowing how and being afraid of failure but more importantly embarrassement. The pandmeic made me lose another year on top of this which sucks.

I am actively working on a big story that will span multiple volumes. The temptation to share chunks of it here on /lit/ has always been high. Yet I keep resisting, because I actually want to get it published, and share it with the world. I think it can legitimately be an extremely good story; I think it is already, and can only get better. there's a theological conundrum in that ultimately any understanding you have of God is inadequate. this exists at least in hinduism and islam, that the "God of words" is not actually a representation of God. Gnosis involves moving past this understanding. I'm just really not sure what to do if there is no God there to relate to. I've started posting about philosophy exclusively because apart from /some/ poetry thread and /some/ poetry posts you always talk about the same, and even the poetry is always the same. /lit/ likes one kind of poetry, one kind of literature, two kinds of politics and then there's philosophy which no one actually knows stuff about besides for the anon posting about philosophy and the two or three equally or more expert anons replying to him. I don't count shitposters at all, and more shit posting should be deleted.
There are some very interesting people on this site and whenever they find eachother on a particular topic that discussion and the insight from it become more valuable than anything that is not a direct discussion with the same people on the same subject in a more ordered, direct or even personal way. Anonymity ensures a kind of starting point where you can ask everything but discussion, any argumentation or any sort of discourse even, further, is just degraded by it.
anon advocating for complete anonymity go on about being anons precisely because they have nothing to contribute if they were not anonymous, if they're just shitposting or degraded a subject they know nothing about.

After reading about a difficult topic for two hours I have to take a break. The most I work a day on uni is four hours + whatever lectures there are. If it's a long day I may only work/read for another two hours and then go to watch a good movie or read a good non academic, scientific book.
You go insane just reading philosophy. Procrastinating reading philosophy is not taking a break, it's just not work and still being stressed about working. Taking a break is not being stressed.

What are you studying then, anon?

I can tell you from my own experience that I get burned out pretty quickly from reading, that is close reading or rather study of serious philosophy. It's by far the most difficult thing you can read, in my opinion. History and politics are a lot easier I find, novels are the easiest. More scientific things like neuroscienec and mathematics and economics are also not that hard, though their name and childhood traum may object here, the formers repetition and memorization are just tiring and annoying because it's brain dead often enough, compared to theory which is easier, while the latters are just a massive amount of reading which is exhausting but never frustrating or complex in the same sense I feel philosophy is.
Art on the other hand just comes to me and I've never read about art and felt tired. I have magazines and books about architecture and photography in my bathroom and I just read two dozen pages or so when I have to take shit.

To maybe help you or give some sort of ground where you can solve your issues yourself. I'd recommend you just start reading and take up reading as often as possible. Forcing yourself in a nonstressful way to read and put away your phone and the internet.
Begin with taking a book to the toilet and instead of finishing asap just sit there for half an hour and read.

I'd call it a kind of psychologically non-polluted and isolated space, where you don't have any associations of working or being stressed, and where people won't disturbe you. I used to have a reading room similar to this (not a a toilet though, but it serves the same purpose) where I just taught myself to read properly by just sitting there until I was content with how much I'v read, being content with your work is (also generally) rather important for progressing. You can't be content in a sense of not wanting to do more, believing you've 'made it' already, but rather in the sense of 'I know more now and I can use this for myself' even if you're forced to read something. If you're never content you'll just spin in circle in a vacuum, never making any progress.
I also read in bed where I've got nothing better to do than just read and where you're already tired, so being tired is not an excuse.

Force yourself, but in a nice way. You have to trick your brain a bit. If you work a lot and it's not just laziness then destressing would be the right solution.

How do I deal with my fear?

I've broken up with my gf, I kind of instinctively saw it coming months away but I didn't experience my epiphanic moment of confession until she was looking at me with her lower lip trembling. I should've been faster. More observant. More selfless.

But now I'm scared. For a long time I've been treating money like it was a frivolous thing, because together we paid our bills very comfortably and everything was great. But now I have to go it alone again, and I don't know how it's going to be, although I do have a little nest egg for myself, but I don't want it to discover I'm at a deficit.

I found an apartment near to work, I don't drive. It's $1200 a month, which isn't really much different from anywhere else in the area or in the city. I take home 1400 after taxes every two weeks. I'm guessing now, but since water and heat are included, I am thinking my bills will consist of: power, Internet, phone, and groceries.

I could put all of those at about (100+100+150+300=) 650, just based on the last five years we lived together and what kind of bills we ran. So if I take home around 3k every month, why do I feel this horrible trembling and fear that I'm forgetting something, that there's going to be some horrible surprise, and that I'm not going to be able to manage $2k in bills on my own? Is it that? "On my own"? Am I just scared of being alone again? Or maybe I'm scared because I feel like time is running out. We can't work forever, and I'm only 30, but I still anticipate the forecast of my infirmity and being left with nothing to support myself.

I need help coping with fear, because it possesses my mind and I can't concentrate on anything. Maybe it's just the stage fright you would have right before you have to walk beyond the curtain.... maybe I just need time to let the events unfold, and settle in, and realize I'll be okay. But I feel like for the next month I'm going to be very perturbed and shaken and I just want it to go away now. I hate anxiety. I want peace of mind. All I ever wanted in my life is peace of mind, and it always seems to be just slipping away.

I want help but I don't have anyone to help me, because I already fucked up the only help I had, in her, in us. I feel like a lost lamb.
