When I first read Anna Karenina it came with a foreword from some fucking random guy that was basically a book report spoiling major parts of the story with no warning; it's as if they expected I had already read it and wanted to know their interpretation of the text

Since then I have never read an introduction or foreword until after I finish the book

They should offer a service where you can send them your own introduction and they prepend that. I've written excellent introductions for several books but it's a pain printing them out and sticking them in the front.
