Is this a decent intro book for someone looking to explore Buddhism?

Soiboy seething I told the truth. If you are a Westerner stick to Western philosophy and religion. You don't have the cultural context for you to not misinterpret everything that you will read.

I'm a westerner :P
Haven't read Peter Harvey. I can recommend Alan Watts though.
A Course in Miracles will take you to the same place if you have a Christian background. (Nothing real can be threatened, nothing unreal exists)
