Dense? Sure, but it's not impenetrable, just boring.

hey I basically downloaded the txt version onto my paperwhite and then a week later went to a bookstore to find that, upon flipping through the physical copy, there are many, many images and formatting choices which I don't know whether or not will affect the read. Can I read it as a txt or will I miss out? Also I don't know what the image Patrick Bateman drew on the wall looks like.

You need the physical book 100%. I say this as someone who almost exclusively reads ebooks

What like somebody rearranged all the text to fit into a pdf? Sounds boring desu, but still worth reading if you’re a poorfag.

>> No.18086146

Reading a .txt version throws a whole new element to the book. That’s the /lit/ way to enjoy it

Honestly the formatting isn’t that important it’s just a gimmick as long as you can access the footnotes

>> No.18086327

>>18083477
There are both pdf (scanned) and ebook versions, at least try a better format.

>> No.18086396

>>18086146
The gimmick is the whole point of the fucking book you troglodyte.

>> No.18087185

>>18086146
I disagree. As much as, yes, its a gimmick, I think there's actual added value with the printed formatting. When you get to the action sequence in Chapter X, the part with the doors closing "one, after, another, after, another". You're the one slamming those doors as you turn the pages. it makes the reading process more immersive.

Yeah. If you are gonna put in the hours of actually reading the book, you should just buy it. It would still be a great book without the weird format, but you will be missing so much.

>> No.18087417

The book isn’t that dense by /lit/ standards. It doesn’t even try to be incomprehensible like so many people here imply. For how complex it technically is, it is extremely easy to read. It pushes the boundaries of what a novel can be more than anything else has that I have read, but it doesn’t make it confusing or esoteric.

somebody posted excerpts and the writing is laughably bad. by now it's half meme, half author shilling
