I don't get it guys. I am decent looking, have nice hair that's a beautiful natural blonde color. I dress like a dark academician. I read French novels (in French) in public to signal my learnedness and advanced literary tastes. But for some reason art hoes and women specifically aren't flocking to me. I even have an ironic mustache so women know I'm cool. What am I doing wrong?? You guys told me this is how you attract art hoes!! I spent 3 years learning French for this! And I've got no results! Only Korean evangelicals have approached me to proselytize when I read my French novels in public.

I'm a published author. Had a collection of short stories published with a small indie publisher. My book got short listed for an award, didn't win but i was still happy.
Because i got shortlisted i was invited to a literary festival. Never been to one before so i thought why not? It's an excuse to go to the city anyway.
Did the literary festival thing, enjoyed it, met this art hoe, we had coffee and talked, she basically invited herself back to my hotel room.
Had bareback sex and i came inside her.
Don't even remember her name other than it started with a J maybe Janet or Janice or something?
New book coming out soon, hoping for another literary festival invite.

Looksmaxing only spreads because it's an easy message to communicate over an anonymous board. The Vibe is more important. Are you approachable? Are you easy to talk to? Do people feel good about themselves while and after talking to you? Can you tell an engaging story? The other option is that your endgame needs work. Like, every woman I've ever met is terrified of being too forward with a guy. It's absurd how almost all of them, if they like a guy, will do nothing about it

I don't get it guys. I am decent looking, have a nice beard that's a beautiful dark color. I wear a chiton and sandles. I read academic scrolls (in ancient Greek) in public to signal my learnedness and advanced philosophical tastes. But for some reason art hoes and women specifically are flocking to me. I even have terrible manners so women know to stay away. What am I doing wrong?? You guys told me this is how you get rid art hoes!! I spent 3 years learning ancient greek for this! And I've got no results! Only professors have left me alone when I read my academic scrolls in public.

Yeah it's all about status dude. Hipster who read french novels are a dime a dozen and usually broke and weird.
A published writer, even one as low level and early career as me, has status, stands out from the crowd of men and is more desirable to a woman.
Then it's just a matter of giving her some old chat, projecting a bit of confidence and you're in like Flynn.

Even in grad school in a major city I’m having trouble finding them, if I find one I’ll be delighted. I don’t consider myself particularly smart but even in Marxist circles i struggle to find a girl who’s actually read the theory. I’m not gonna waste my time looking for the girl who’s read the exact same things that I have

I'm not giving you my name if that's what you're after.
Look to be honest i'm as suprised as anyone that this happened. My goal was to be enough of a success as a writer that i could quit my day job. That still hasn't happened and may be some way off yet but in the meantime when cool things like this happen i'm taking my luck where i find it.

Disappointed that the picture cut out the rest of the paragraph, here it is:

Looking back, it’s embarrassing to recognize the degree to which my intellectual curiosity those first two years of college paralleled the interests of various women I was attempting to get to know: Marx and Marcuse so I had something to say to the long-legged socialist who lived in my dorm; Fanon and Gwendolyn Brooks for the smooth-skinned sociology major who never gave me a second look; Foucault and Woolf for the ethereal bisexual who wore mostly black. As a strategy for picking up girls, my pseudo-intellectualism proved mostly worthless; I found myself in a series of affectionate but chaste friendships.

>tfw she’s best friends with my former Arthoe gf from high school (her mom was my art teacher)
>tfw former gf jokingly suggests a ménage a trois with gf and I, but gf is strongly against.
So close to nirvana and yet so far, had to play it off like I didn’t want it all.

I never said I had trouble finding girls, I have a pretty happy friend group. I just don’t expect them to adhere to and have extensive dialogues with my worldview. In real life I just want to play board games and get drunk with frens. It’s a waste of time to posture and circlejerk my own philosophies to girls who don’t know or care.

Yes

How do I improve this? It seems like in any social situation I'm in I always inspire some group of pathetic normies to hate me. I did a lot of acting as a kid so I know how to play a crowd but whenever I'm in a party setting I just awkwardly linger around the smoking area or look for other awkward loners to hit up for a 1-on-1 conversation.

I found The Like Switch to be quite a good read. In short, it is an FBI agent's recommendations on how to build trust, relationships et cetera with people. But no book will fix you, all it can do is to make you more prone to actually get out in the real word and practice.

Pretty light stuff to be honest, my book, the literary festival, she asked me what writers had influenced me. Because my book is about living and working in remote parts of Australia she asked a lot about that, i don't think she's ever really been out bush before.
And one thing lead to another, she came back to my hotel and we had sex.
