Just finished it, it was pretty good, are the next two books worth reading?

that's all you have to say about it?

I thought the world descriptions were the great, the dialogue between characters was always interesting, especially with the Baron and his nephew when they were trying to understand each others intentions, I liked it plenty. What do the sequels offer? Anything better or is it generally "worse"?

Finished it the other day. I enjoyed it as well, but was it only me that thought the fighting scenes always had a rather abrupt ending? Especially the final one, thought the ending was rather anti-climactic.

everything up to god emperor is good

OP here, yeah I thought the ending was REALLY abrupt, it almost killed the whole momentum the ending was going with, I think he should've pushed the conflict with the Emperor into the second book to finish this one strong.

Two is definitely worth reading and a satisfying sequel. Three is kind of a mess, but it's worth reading if you are planning to go ahead and read four which is the best book in the series

agreed, but the part at the end when he's reunited with Thufir Hawat is kino af and brought a mist to my eyes.

No, Dune is the only book worth reading in the series

No.

Dune Messiah is really good, Children of Dune is decent
God Emperor of Dune is completely different from the first three books and is divisive

Read thru God emperor. Keep reading thru chapterhouse if you still have an erection

I gave up partway through 3, but to really get back into it i think I would have to read 2 again. Worth it?

I'm on Chapterhouse. I would say there are diminishing returns with the series. Herbert likes to showcase his knowledge with everything he knows but the story tends to suffer. Still, it's thought provoking and the imagery is good.

You should read the next book at least. It wraps things up a bit and is basically Dune 1.5.

Yes, read dune messiah at least. It complements Dune greatly. Not as good as Dune, but still enjoyable.
Children of Dune is a bit messy but it's a good read if you like the universe. Things start to get weird, in a good way.
