Simone de Beauvoir is probably your best starting point, as far as non-fiction goes, but you'll also want to read Wollstonecraft. You'll most likely want to acquaint yourself with the giants of feminine fiction as well, such as Kate Chopin and Woolf.

Almost forgot, I'd also recommend Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, which is a good entry into the more schizo side of feminist literature. It's also just a very entertaining play.

Drink paint, or suffer some kind of traumatic brain injury is probably the best place to start. To be a feminist you either need to be disingenuous, foolish or a woman.

Essential entry lit for feminism is fetal alcohol syndrome. Alternatively you could also hit your head with a hammer multiple times.

Just have some empathy for women is all you need, I suppose. Women have been standing in the shadow of men for basically forever, so it's no surprise that the activists can be a bit radical. You dont have to agree with all of the points, just realize that in general, feminism is what has made women full citizens.
