The dream of becoming a writer is nothing but an energy trap set by the elites. They want you to waste your time on dreams so you are impotent in reality. You aren't some undiscovered genius: you're a slave caught in a dream.

elite here, we unironically don't give a shit about you

actually, you're just blackpilled by the elite to think writing has somehow lost meaning, or are a shill actively trying to blackpill others into believing that

I've spent 3 years writing my first novel. First editor I sent it to tore it apart and basically told me it would need a top to bottom rework. I really don't see the point in keeping at it when the only people who will read my shit writing are 2/3 random people on the internet and my grandmother.

I don't think writing has lost all meaning. I think the dream career of becoming a writer is out of reach for most and is thus practically a psychic energy sink. Instead of diverting your energies to changing the world around you, you are busy thumbing through a thesaurus trying to figure out which synonyms create a nautical vibe.

Youre half right. writing has no practical purpose. Even the great american poet wally would agree
>To young literateurs I want to give three bits of advice: First, don’t write poetry; second ditto; third ditto. You may be surprised to hear me say so, but there is no particular need of poetic expression. We are utilitarian, and the current cannot be stopped.
To put it into context, he was saying dont sacrifice other aspects of your life and be so absorbed in books you don't do anything else, it should happen naturally, through habits
To blame it all on the "elites" makes you retarded, and is pretty laughable at how childlike it is. Its like the old cliche in music and movies of professors mocking students who write poetry in their classes. That stereotype is so exceedingly rare, I have never met one, nor has anyone I know met one. Its a fabrication. No one in the "elite" gives a shit about you writing

You don't think the elites have a vested interest in giving people dreams to shoot for so they are contained by them? How many niggers would be gang banging if they didn't think they could be the next labron james?

>you don't think the elites have a vested interest in giving people dreams to shoot for so they are contained by them?
no, at least not in the way you mean. A lottery is really the only elite controlled dream, everything cultural and athletic is entirely personal
