Not really, /lit/ likes e-readers. They're convenient, and really useful especially for poorfags like myself.

E-readers have their uses. Mine was invaluable when I was abroad for a few months and had no access to English-language books.

Anyone who actually enjoys reading can see the undeniable appeal and value of an e-reader.

Anyone who's just obsessed with aesthetics and likes to consoom will not. It's really that simple.

>> No.17823880

The point of libgen? It freely provides its content to be mirrored, for redundancy/safety and because it's part of their ethos.
The point of z-lib? It has a few extra books.
If libgen accepted donations, like z-lib does, then there'd be an argument about how z-lib is using libgen's idea to make money, but libgen explicitly doesn't accept donations.

I love my kobo. I enjoy reading books on it. I especially like the fact that it has 700+ books on it that I never paid for.
If I have an inclination to read a book I just pirate it and start reading.
Instant gratification.

I have 1000+ physical books that I've paid for. I've spent enough on books and don't have any more room to store them

I like it because I can increase the font size easily when I take off my glasses. Also I can download web articles like Stanford Encyclopedia, I can copy and paste the text and turn it into an epub, then read them later. If I'm doing serious analyzing of a book, I'll take a paperback since turning pages much quicker

Jesus Christ! Do e-readers sound retarded yet? It's a solution in search of a problem. Just pick up a book and read. Not everything needs to have a tech variant.
