Nice I'm about to finish this today. Make sure you get Plato's complete works too.
I can't believe the Athenians did Socrates so dirty...

I just started a similar book too, first dialogue is the Banquet. We're all gonna make it.

We're all gonna make it bros.
Socrates is for me someone I try and absorb on a personal level as well as understanding his ideas (which might be mostly Plato putting them in his mouth).
I really enjoy that Socrates keeps some level of humbleness and says he doesn't know anything, just to emphasize the idea of always questioning your beliefs and having a healthy amount of self scepticism. First time I heard of him in high school I got all flustered and thought this guy was stupid, because he seemed to just ask people a bunch of questions, and not being interested in finding an answer. I am older now and understand that asking questions is much more valuable than having answers. I genuinely think this mindset and attitude is necessary to get anywhere in philosophy and also a key aspect of living a good life.

Nice. I'm doing something similar, OP.
I wanted something to guide my reading, including suggestions of supporting texts, so I googled a syllabus for an introductory course.

Does this seem decent, /lit/?

I couldn't load it but I was planning on just posting about the dialogues on /lit/ or with some smart professor guys I know.
Would following a syllabus make it more worth it?
