i never feel the need to read fiction unless it's for a book club thing. why? taste? stupidity?

You tell me, never met you before.

No one needs you to read fiction if you don't like it.

Have you read many of the short/easy high-school standards?

read flannery oconnor for high school lit and remember it being interesting, but not sure if i was really getting something out of it or if because it was an assignment and the first time i realized you could read fiction that was relevant to someone born after 1900. might be worth revisiting.

That's a terrible perspective to have. Regardless, why don't you go back to Flannery and see if you've gained a new appreciation for her since high school.

Your last piece of fiction was a high school curriculum book?

Depends on your level as a reader. If you aren't that great, then probably not much.

But you probably won't improve if you don't read it.

Fiction is for women and brainlets that want to escape reality. True high IQ patricians read non-fiction only.

WTF. There were books before 1900?
