What's the point of reading fiction? It teaches you nothing. Maybe it's just my Asperger's but I'd rather read historical, academia, and philosophical books. I feel this way about television as well. But I do enjoy South Park.

Oh wow I read Great Gatsby now I know it's moral story oh wow so smart.

If I want to learn about morality I'll read philosophy and the Bible. If I want to know about history I'll read a history book. If I want to learn a new subject, I'll read about it in a non-fiction book. If I want to be entertained I'll watch the movie and get the same general message.

exactly, ficition would only be read by someone who really lives a little off the beaten track or is autistic. Because life is difficult enough that there is only enough time for specialist literature because the rest of the time is needed for life. Alone with Nietzsche and the thought of the eternal return, one would be provided for a whole life. Reality offers much more fiction than books in the fiction category. Because man is a constructivist being who lives in compulsive fictions. That's exactly the deep shit that those up there want to keep quiet. The fiction category only serves people who like to sell books or geniuses like Stanley Kubrick or other movie makers who make films out of them.

I guess so. I read what I like in the Bible. I also get a good sense of my morality through Buddhism. But Christ is King.

It's good if a women reads fiction. Because women are incapable of grasping abstract and hard thought ideas. It keeps them away from constant degeneracy and I can make her wet by acting like Mark Darcy.

Kierkegaard wrote half a book rewriting & dissecting a parable - Fear and Trembling would fall apart without serious & thoughtful fiction.

Dante is not just a fiction but also has a symbolic and historical value. You don't have to pretend that there are just idiots around and you are the hero.

Nice projection. Nietzsche is at least original enough that I respect him. But Nietzsche spawns too much pseudo-intellectualism that I hate anyone who idolizes his ideas. The same people that like Nietzsche like Jordan Peterson, Dostoyevsky, Ben Shapiro, etc. The only fan of Nietzsche I approve of is TJ Kirk since he genuinely has a good outlook on politics and society.

There's fiction in the Bible - any of Jesus' parables are. And whether or not you think the story of Abraham & Isaac was fictional, Kierkegaard's treatment of it was via his own fiction.

Undoubtedly, but the parable itself is still essential to his thought, and I think the parables in the new testament are essential to christian thought. And I really think all those stories are valuable in the same way other serious or important fiction is.

I don't want to start writing about Nietzsche now, that wouldn't help anyone. And it's okay if you like Kierkegaard. The people you named are nothing special to me either.

I just think it's funny that you are talking about projections but you felt triggered by Nietzsche and had to answer with a meme to show how cool you are.

Oh, and speaking of projections;
