I have the abridged, Is there more to be learned by reading the full version?

Nah. Mostly all they remove is his stutter and his digressions regarding fruit. Oddly he never stuttered while speaking, just when writing.

>Is reading the full version of the decline of the west?
what did he mean by this

reading will destroy the west

His thoughts on Hitler are pretty interesting and were not in the abridged version iirc. I'm a little hesitant to read anything that proposes cyclical theories of history. For example why did he pick 2000 as the approximate mark of the decline of the West and not 1962 or 2043? Too tidy for my tastes.

I have read the full version and to be honest he does return to the points he already made throughout the text and goes on long tangents so if you are only interested in his ideas, main predictions and arguments for them I guess abridged version will do fine however whole text is a work of impressive erudition and quite an ”epic” read as it covers pretty much all of history known in his time and it will be well worth your time
