What are STEM-approved philosophers? Reading philosophers that were debunked by science feels like a waste of time desu

It is not, anon. It is not. Think about existentialism and you might understand.

philosophical pessimism and existential nihilism _is_ scientific fact, deduced with logic

Look, anon. What I'm talking about is that how you think about situations influence a lot on how you deal with them. That is why Stoicism is a thing in the first place, there are some limits to what you can do, but they are 'bendable' as you gain knowledge.

Yeah sure, read Feyerabend, he was a 'philosopher of science'

Socrates was pretty cool. Vindicated by history when he hypothesized genetics and then suggested that the state should breed humans like dogs in order to create the ultimate warrior. But it sounds like you want some gay materialists or something.

Or Aristotle, who forms the foundation of western science (and governments). He also offered a very strong defense for slavery and pointed out that gay people are often made gay by cause of predation by older men. He discovered integral calculus 2 millennia before Leibniz or Newton and wrote over his work with a cooking recipe because it was just that unimportant to him. Very smart guy.

Not sure what that is anon. I'm just trying to give you book recommendations. Maybe you would prefer HG Wells. He made a lot of cool suggestions like forcing women into higher education so that they would never have time to have children.

have you ever read a room of ones one by Verginia Woolf? read that for fun once because it is only like a 120 pages and she basically comes across as a turbo lesbian blaming all her problems on men. I found it quite funny

You celebrate arguing in bad faith, using whatever rhetorical tactic allows you to evade all epistemic responsibility. You "debate" to defeat an opponent, not to pursue the truth of matters. You're in good company on 4chan.

All of these are variations of mathematics. Mathematics come from science and science comes from philosophy. However mathematics have advanced so much that they control science, and the same goes for science over philosophy. You can't just simply philosophize that the sun won't come up tomorrow. We have evidence that it will. Philosophy's job is to develop the blind spots in science and theorize about what we don't know but it can never contradict what is currently scientifically factual.

Hard to believe that. Common belief is that Aristotle was bad at mathematics. That is why he didnt get to lead Akademeia and developed metaphysics separate from maths.

Modern-day science is about empirical quantitative relations between things in a empirical rule, so it answers to different set of questions than philosophy.
