First and foremost, using blank lines suitably improves the readability of your post. Especially in 2020 where people have 2160p, 27 inch monitors and you can easily lose your spot when it breaks inside a huge paragraph. I can hardly be bothered to read the shit you people post on here, and if it's all bunched together, I'm not going to bother at all.

Second [also note that nice space in the text, reflecting the logical separation in the content], Reddit stopped using Markdown years ago. Literally, years ago. Now they have a normie WYSIWYG editor. So it doesn't even make sense. What you call reddit spacing is actually the opposite of how you do it on reddit.

Third, Markdown was not specific to reddit. It's extremely standard, especially in the sort of things autistic 4channers do.
