I'd like to start meditating again but I need a guidebook. I'd used The Mind Illuminated before, but I'm hesitant to use it again given that the author has indulged in degeneracy. I'd prefer book by monks and primary sources over anything secular. Any recommendations?

accesstoinsight.org has a BUNCH of stuff. It's all Theravada, which keeps you from the galaxy brain Diamond Way SCHIZO-CHAD Vajrayana stuff, but then that's a good thing because you aren't supposed to do Vajrayana stuff without a master beside you anyways.

what he do? the book is good. i would use it for what it is because whether you approve of what the author did has nothing to do with the content of the book. in fact, i'd say you're clinging onto this image of meditation which is really going against what meditation should be all about.

>Ānāpānasati (Pali; Sanskrit ānāpānasmṛti), meaning "mindfulness of breathing" ("sati" means mindfulness; "ānāpāna" refers to inhalation and exhalation[1]), is a form of Buddhist meditation originally taught by Gautama Buddha in several suttas including the Ānāpānasati Sutta.[2]
