hardly, it's just an animal attempting to find food and fuck other starfish(I assume starfish fuck, I don't know). It has its many legs because it presumably helped it do these things in its evolutionary past.

I doubt the lineage of that starfish ever interacted with our own in a predatory capacity, unlike these other many-legged abominations who are pretty much a mythical terror beast made flesh. These guys utterly destroy everything else their size in a shocking almost biblical fashion
