What’s your favourite poem? Mine’s “On the Creation of Niggers” by H P Lovecraft:
>When, long ago, the gods created Earth
>In Jove's fair image Man was shaped at birth.
>The beasts for lesser parts were next designed;
>Yet were they too remote from humankind.
>To fill the gap, and join the rest to Man,
>Th'Olympian host conceiv'd a clever plan.
>A beast they wrought, in semi-human figure,
>Filled it with vice, and called the thing a Nigger.

What is needed is a full audit and fixing the broken voting system. We had that problem in 2016 but Trump didn't care because he won and we'll have that problem in 2024 because Biden won and he won't care. This problem seems unfixable, because the winner can risk to lose after a full audit.

US trade deficit up to $67.1 billion in August, 14-year high
By PAUL WISEMAN
October 6, 2020

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. trade deficit rose in August to the highest level in 14 years.

The Commerce Department reported Tuesday that the gap between the goods and services the United States sells and what it buys abroad climbed 5.9% in August to $67.1 billion, highest since August 2006. Exports rose 2.2% to $171.9 billion on a surge in shipments of basedbeans, but imports rose more — up 3.2% to $239 billion — led by purchases of crude oil, cars and auto parts.

The U.S. deficit with the rest of the world in the trade of goods such as airplanes and appliances set a record $83.9 billion in August. The United States ran a surplus of $16.8 billion in the trade of services such as banking and education, lowest since January 2012.

The politically sensitive deficit in the trade of goods with China fell 6.7% to $26.4 billion.

So far this year, the United States has recorded a trade gap of $421.8 billion, up 5.7% from January-August 2019.

The problem with the right wing is that they cannot filter the nonsense from the actual conspiracies- partially because the actual conspiracies must seem insane to normal people. Once you delve deeper into conspiracies and find the real ones you go slightly insane and stop trusting anything and you get curious of more outlandish things. It becomes an addiction to find the source of evil and even more audacious transgressions of the secret ruling class. You become isolated within that sphere and start to assume that 90% of the population is your enemy- which at that point they might as well be. So you come back from your rabbit hole and drop keywords and phrases that make sense to you, btu not to the uninitiated and it comes off as mad rambling- pushing conspiratards even more to the fringe as social outcasts and schizos. The whole dynamic of it is a perfect coincidence that will ensure that the key truths will never come out and conspiratards getting even more insane until they willingly believe in impossible things, knowingly, doing the leap of faith into the truly absurd.

Even still we have plenty of official investigations republican voting overseers and other media outlets like the AP and Reuters with a tremedous track record of truthful reporting that is basically what lets them exist. I really doubt they'd toss their loyalty away for Joe mufuggin Biden.

You could make a conspiracy out of anything, and in a way it is maddening that we can't truly know. Yet, hand recounts in Georgia debunked the dominion shit at least in that state.

My point is that we desperately need more transparent and open elections and we really fucking need some media anti-trust policy, plus a reform into how independent media companies are formed and the barrier to entry needs to be significantly lowered.

Since this is the closest thing to a Lovecraft thread I can find right now.

I noticed that Lovecraft's stories are so interesting for me, because his protagonists are usually smart, rational thinking people thrown into impossible situations. He finds a good balance between showing curiosity and fear, which makes everything much more believable. Many of his characters approach the weird things as scientific observers, which holds up pretty well even a century later. Most of the magic is usually pretty subtle unlike most of current fantasy.
