Dostoyevsky is a bad example too: he didn't like military engineering, and resigned from a military post he'd got from the school his family chose for him. He was already writing at the time. He also wrote through epilepsy, which is probably more draining than your job on overtime.

OP when will you realize that if you're a white guy you're supposed to work twice as hard as anyone else? You can't just deliver decent results, anything you do has to be undeniably good or they will seize the opportunity to put you down.
