The only reason you would be so offended by such a notion is if you think English is entirely static, ie. you're unaware of even Middle English, and you don't know any other languages written with the Roman alphabet, so you find it disturbing to see letters doing unfamiliar things.

You also lack basic reading comprehension since I didn't even say I'd approve of making such changes, I said it would be more consistent and easier for people to learn.
