He's basically a scholar of the Scholastics/Aquinas explaining the basics in a readable form and putting them in a wider context.
Not all of his books are exactly like that, though. He did a book on the introduction of the philosophy of the mind that gives a fair enough explanation of the modern philosophies, and he did a book on the New Atheism and the "metaphysical foundations of physical and biological science."
