Orwell was a conflicted soul, a curious, bookish kid born respectable lower upper middle class family who had a disdain for the stultifyingly stratified milieu into which he found himself, first at a cruel public school and then as an enforcer for British overseas imperialism. He held a morbid curiosity, as well as a genuine sympathy, with the repressed, coal blackened poor and society's cast offs, unlike the bill of Marxist thinkers who only play pretend.
Orwell disliked fascism enough to fight against it, and eventually take a bullet for the cause with which he identified, which despite any outward label was a squashy, liberal socialism, or a muscular red Toryism light that espoused the British sense of fair play and a good cup of tea. He had no time for the "bearded fruit juice drinkers" effete left, nor for the Communists after the Spanish Civil War. He valued truth as a universal virtue and wrote towards a lifelong aim of getting these human truths onto the pages of his ouevre. In effect you could say he was based and redpilled.

i don't need to say what i "think" orwell believed in. it was right there in his work. maybe if you read some of it instead of just throwing your toys out of your pram you might even understand some of it. he wrote in plain enough terms. read his essay "why i write" as a starting point. although if you are an american i suspect even that might be beyond you since i have never met an american who doesn't have some kind of breakdown at the word "socialism".
