The Good changes. God doesn't. God loves the pious because it's pious.

Does God still think slavery is ok?

yeah

There is no victim in slavery in itself. It’s a natural necessity to handle the weak and unresponsive. I didn’t travel four billion years through evolutionary iteration for a weak willed neophyte to get in my way. That doesn’t mean you should be cruel or evil.

Doesn’t it make more sense and is more morale (religiously) to just have paid servants then?

The only one who isn't a slave is one who has virtue.

Servants are freemen, slaves are not. What you're asking really is whether there is a moral imperative (rather than obligation) to release ones slaves. There is, but it is situational and not obligatory. It can become a moral obligatory under circumstances.

The slave is free where I do not lead. But the slave is a slave because it needs me to lead. Where the slave does not need me to lead, he is free. Again, not to be cruel or evil. But if you're on a mission, then you have an obligation to lead. Carrying others becomes a holy burden. This is why it is good. This is why I said the good changes but God doesn't. You only carry the slaves until they don't need to be led. You take care of your slaves and treat them good but their job is to follow. That way everyone can change with the good, that way God can love us.
