Add Nietzsche, Marx, Derrida, and Zizek to that list.

All are fine writers and are good at their own niche things.
Bukowski is good at showing the underbelly to everything
Vonnegut is good at twisting morals within a light sci-fi/postmodern style
I have never read Gaiman, so I can't comment
Murakami blends Kafkaesque themes and styles with good characterizations
Franzen has some of the most fleshed out characters I have ever read in American fiction.

Are they GOAT? Of course not, but they're still solid and good writers.

I mean, Murakami's fiction is Kafkaesque. I don't know what other word I should use that encompasses Kafkaesque.

They absolutely read Vonnegut, Murakami and Gaiman. Bukowski is more like a tumblr meme. Franzen is read by the Oprah crowd.

Do you really expect a basedjakker to produce a worthwhile criticism?
These people, if they can still be called that, are so thoroughly clad in irony and derision that any sincerity they find they have no choice but to mock. The basedjakker is the cyberized version of a special-education schoolyard bully.

>tfw actually liked the Da Vinci Code
Yeah it’s not high literature but was still an exciting story
