my favourite kind of music is breakcore, with some noise influence, I do not care about the lyrical content whatsoever in fact I prefer music without lyrics or for them to be distorted beyond recognition, I like voice being used just like any other instrument for that matter

Really don't like it when the music of a song has to suffer for the lyrics. By far prefer some simple lyrics and vocals that mix perfectly in with the instrumental than some cunt reading a poem for four minutes over the same guitar chord over and over and over again. So stuff like Gang of Four, The Fall, Slowdive and even fucking Playboi Carti, perfect.

Good taste, anons.
I’ve been listening to a lot of guitar-based music in the past few months, paying more attention to the musicians’ actual guitar work (slowly starting to learn classical guitar myself & getting into classical music any recommendations for good classical music for guitar?). Recently it’s been mostly King Crimson’s live material, Fahey, Basho, and a bunch of John Zorn projects. Lyrics don’t matter that much at the moment.

>> No.16681537

>>16680782
hey bro I started learning classical guitar a few months ago so maybe I can help? Pick up a method book first, carcassi is a bit dated but i found it helpful. Get your fingers happening in the right places. Really important that you learn to read standard notation as well as tab, start by sight reading some music with only one voice - eg. flute or violin music.
As for repertoire, the great thing about classical guitar is that many of the simple studies sound fantastic. Print out some sheet music for studies that you like, I suggest tarrega's Em and C studies, and some of Sor's Segovia studies (no. 4 and 5 are great). Make sure you find versions with fingerings otherwise sight reading will be frustrating. If you don't have a teacher youtube is a great resource for getting technique down pat. Oh, and make sure your posture is good + use a footstool.
King crimson is cool btw, Lark's tongues in aspic is my favourite. If you want some autistic classical-prog rock stuff, heck out the band Sky, with classical guitarist john williams.

Can anyone recommend me music (aside from hard rock) to get out of this metal rut?

>> No.16682001

I mostly listen to prog, black metal, 20th century classical(stravinsky, bartok, shostakovich, schoenberg, etc.), baroque, cloud rap, soundcloud rap, post-rock/metal, minimalism, emo, anything with caveman riffs, memphis rap, emo rap, hyperpop, hardstyle, drum & bass, bluegrass, pop, folk, jazz fusion, or anything that mixes one or more of these styles. More or less I just like well crafted music of basically all varieties, just as long as it reaches whatever projected aesthetic/ideal they aim for when making it. Lyrical content does not matter, the texture of the vocals and how well it juxtaposes or suits the song is more important. But if the lyrics are existential, esoteric, or poetic that's also nice too I guess.

Classical Music
Jazz
Rap
Hip Pop
Pop Music
Lo-Fi Hip Hop
Electronica
Rock and Roll

I mostly use YouTube to listen to music, since I have a Bluetooth speaker and I don't like headphones, especially ear buds. I can bounce around pretty eclectically across an evening of listening. I can listen to an Ava Max or Sam Smith song one minute, listen to some synth-heavy electronic music the next, and then listen to a composition by Max Bruch or Antonin Dvorak after that.

I never said all music is vapid though, just that it's only actually valuable in specific contexts. I don't have anything against listening to 1 or 2 songs to get a boost when someone starts their day or wants to feel more calm, but there's clearly a line where it crosses over into just being a dopamine junkie and music out of all mediums is the easiest way to get there.

I don't eat snacks and have just breakfast and dinner.
I dont read books anymore. I dont drink either. I'll buy a pack of cigarettes once every couple of weeks and just sit there and smoke them in the woods.

Here are we, one magical movement from Kether to Malkuth
There are you, you drive like a demon from station to station

What exactly do you do all day? I'm a serial procrastinator. I just got 14/100 on a test that's worth 30% of my mark because I started it 20 minutes before to deadline—I've sabotaged my life at every turn: If you asked me about the greatest victory of my life I'd tell you it's realizing this world isn't for me. The only reason I haven't jumped out my window is for the sake of protest; I'm revolting against the powers that damn me, be they cosmic, societal, or myself, by refusing to bend and die I spite the world with my anguish—genuinely wish I was dead though. My hate and suffering is so intense that I feel it physically as sharp pains in my end and weight in my stomach. But I have resolved to revolt against the cruelty of my life by not yielding where a lesser man would allow suicide to soothe them. In that, I might one day be triumphant

I'll work and then go home and sit and do nothing. I am too tired. On the weekends, I just lay there and think. I won't even think it I mastutbate, that lobotomizes me and I wouldn't even be able to write a post.
