I couldve lived the cozy life of a medieval peasant.

Born in some village occupied by the descendants of the same people for millennia. Wouldve never needed to learn to read or go to school, spend all day outside playing with the other village kids and working on the family farm. Never have to stress about what I’d do because farming is what you do, it’s hard work but it feeds you and you directly get the result of your labor, only having to give a portion to your lord who graciously defends you from outside threats. Marry some qt childhood friend village girl and raise a dozen kids with her. Be part of a real community sharing in countless holidays, births, and funerals together over the years. I’m sure there’d be tragedies you’d endure like premature deaths, plague, or famine, but you would know this was the will of god. All your anxieties and stresses would be assuaged knowing you had lived the way the creator of the universe intended.

Instead I get:
>born into either soulless suburban life or soul destroying single mother life
>go to school all day everyday for 3/4 of the year from ages 5-17
>come to learn from all the smarty intellectuals that God isnt real and there’s no inherent value or morality in the universe, everything is pretty much meaningless
>have to go to college and go into massive debt for the rest of my life or I’m some redneck meth-head loser
>have to pick some random career to major in at 18 despite having no idea what I want to do with my life
>end up picking cs or business bc theyre the memes degrees
>maybe have meaningless sex a few time though for zoomers there’s a 1/3 you don’t even get that
>end up getting some mediocre gpa, maybe even an internship
>try and enter the work force but Covid-19 happens
>spend months applying to jobs to no avail
>to pay off the debt for your degree you get a part time job at a grocery store
>even if you got a real job you’re pretty sure you’d hate it
>suicide a constant topic in your mind

You don't need to play the game they want you to play. You can have everything you dreamt aloud in this post. Break the chains they spent years placing on you. You are like an elephant who was chained to a post as a baby but now as an adult, despite having the strength to break free, you stay and let the fat tourists ride you.

Which country are you in?

In the US or Canada it is as simple as going to farms or a farmer's market during the right time of year and asking for work. Many places have shortages because citizens don't want to work those jobs anymore. You get certain farms that even provide citizenship. Farmers like Joel Salatin (recommend his lectures and books) have even helped their workers develop their own business and get started on their own land while offering invaluable education. I'm sure google would be like striking a gold mine for opportunities. You have to be willing to pack up your shit and move just like many men did before who wanted to strike their claim and get their start. I worked on a farm many summers as a teenager and got my job by asking a farmer I met while working at a butcher shop.

I mean like, you know this is a retroactive fantasy right? if you were that peasant you wouldn't be the wageslave you were now so your criterion for what constitutes the "good life" would have been adapted accordingly? on medieval 4chan you'd be complaining about how you wish you were born as a Roman peasant working for the glory of the Empire. I'm not saying shut the fuck up and get to work goy, just let go of these images and make something happen now.

I sell commercial insurance and write sales copy. Grew up doing mostly blue collar work or soul-crushing service jobs like the one you have now. Don't limit yourself to that if you can help it. I get that money is necessary to survive but spinning in the wheel for dog shit money gets you no where. I had an abusive single mother who always told me to take those jobs even when I explained that I deserved more and could do more. Eventually I packed a few bags and left that place forever. I had to let go of everything and leave everyone behind. Maybe you can do the same and live some variation of the life you're longing for.
