Is there a book that made your life worse after reading it?

The Bible: made me ashamed of puberty

Six Degrees: made me terrified of the future due to catastrophic climate change

Norwegian Wood: made me start thinking seriously about suicide; it was never something I considered beforehand

Prometheus Rising: Destroyed my reality tunnel and left a big void in its place

The Communist Manifesto: made me a communist, and then unhappy as a result

Postcapitalism: made me think everything is fucked, and pretty unhappy about it too

Revolt Against the Modern World: made me finally doubt modernism (in a way no po-mo gallic nonsense ever could), destroyed any political engagement I had left and made me feel like everything was profoundly hopeless

Now you have a reality open space. You know what I recommend, don’t you anon?

>> No.16654338

>Bible
Read some harder Christian theology and try praying and fasting

>climate change

You won’t live to see it even if it’s the case

>suicide
read some decadent and pessimistic lit. They’ll play on those desires but turn them towards aesthetics.

>Prometheus Rising
Try reading some pyrrhonian skepticism and some better esotericism (this can range from boehme and Agrippa all the way to Linji)

>communist manifesto
Read books on economics and stop trying to do politics based on emotions or values

>postcapitalism

Read baudrillard and you’ll get this pill even harder but more realistic.

>revolt against the modern world
Realize politics has always been masturbatory and only helping yourself and your friends and local community has real impact.

This anon is possibly the only good trip-poster on /lit/. Unrelated to this thread, but a while ago I recommended you some of Wagner's prose works. If you had time to read it, what did you think of it?

What? I recommended some of Wagner's philosophical work in a Schopenhauer thread and the anon asked for the link. Since he has previously praised Schopenhauer, I'm curious what he thought of that work. I don't know anything about the bible and the troll you mentioned.

Naw. I watched the video. Nothing complex was said. They pretended not to know what the subject was, again, in order to impress the room full of young spotless minded tories. When they talk about equality they’re talking about opportunity and fairness. The old motto was always “with liberty and justice for all” that’s freedom and equality. Equal treatment under the law. Instead of addressing it the same way you’re gearing up to do right now, they act a fool and say shit for the dumbfuck audience.
The fat guy spots it easily, calls it out. THE END
