and even those you listed only talked about him because he was briefly a trendy salon philosopher for a couple decades; for women at cocktail parties
his influence was miniscule, and his ideas are totally worthless today

Nietzsche, Bergson, then there's Gaston Bachelard's Poetics of Space and Anne Carson's Eros the Bittersweet which are not philosophy per se but are rather heavy on references to philosophical works.

i realize you're going to defend him to the death because he's the one philosopher you've read besides Camus and your attempt at Plato's Republic, so maybe I should just let you continue on your path towards Guenon, Spenger, and rejected applications to your state university grad school programs

he had some retarded idea that looking at art you lose sense of time and are therefore immune to how big and bad the world is.

being male, under 25, unpopular, showcasing work in your MFA rotunda, no gallery representation, your work getting aligned with conceptual art because how ugly it is even though you actually worship beauty

Ronald McDonald is unironically one of the greatest modern day philosophers, a truly genius refutation of Schopenhauer's anti-natalism. If life is more suffering than joy the solution is not to cease producing new life, but instead to accept the absurdity of McDonalds land. There are a lot of artist's philosophers, since the concept of art is an ill contructed concept itself. The germans found a historical solution working on the concept of poiesis; after that, art, as a categorial idea, was flatten to the point in wich art means nothing at all, even when academics and mediocre artists want to put every kind of production in it.
There are a few thinkers that I know that have ideas closer to what aesthetic production is, Klossowski may be one of them, Pollock too.
I would recomend you to be clever enough so you don't fall in the same mistake that ruined german theory of art: the idea that aesthetic experience is based on stop being yourself. I think Schopenhauer is one of the most aesthetic philosophers, but even him went down to the whole "art is which undo the condition of self", since they think the self and rational persona are the same think, which is obviously not.

>If children were brought into the world by an act of pure reason alone, would the human race continue to exist? Would not a man rather have so much sympathy with the coming generation as to spare it the burden of existence? or at any rate not take it upon himself to impose that burden upon it in cold blood.
This is not a positive argument for antinatalism. He's decrying the tragedy of the perpetuation of the species sure, but he's not making an ought statement to not procreate. If you actually read Schopenhauer, you'd realise reason (ie. the function of the intellect in its a priori application of space, time and causality) is subordinated to the will. Following this, it is impossible for the individual to exercise the pure reason necessary for Schopenhauer's wish.

Have some reading reading comprehension and don't be so cocksure from now on.

Stop misinterpreting him. Schopenhauer praised rationalism.
If you're a natalist then you lack both the reason and sympathy, that's make you an absolute subhuman.
