My college advisor signed me up for a literary criticism class this semester. So far, I enjoyed reading Everyday Use and A Rose for Emily. As the class goes on, it becomes progressively more retarded. We have to learn political criticisms, but only Marxist and feminist perspectives. We're at gay criticism now, and I have to read Don't Explain, which is a collection of short stories by some lady named Jewelle Gomez. I looked through the summaries of each short story, and the story "Houston" is supposed to be about a black lesbian vampire.

God, help me.

The only way to survive is through internalized smug condescension and contempt towards your class, classmates, andprofessor. Don't let it show though.

Literary criticism teaches the bourgeois how to survive ideologically complex times while preserving and defending the value form. You need to learn how to fake it in order to be able to convincingly fake *anything*.

Take the chad marxists tankie position and heavily critisicize idpol as fundamentally liberal bullshit, thenbe creative in your critisism by breaking the fourth wall and start criticism the class, the institution and academia as a whole.
