Thats nice, two things, first reread what I wrote and realise I never claimed that religious convictions are not possible, just that there is a group of people like yourself that are completely atheistical, but pretend to be religious.

I know you are not religious because you claim that religious believes and feelings are common to humanity, which is the talk of an atheist pretending to be religious.

Its not just fear or danger that turns a man towards God, but a strong and innate desire to understand the truth and life up to some higher standard. If you can not get this, you are an atheist larping as religious.

I've read the whole of mormon doctrine several times and memorized each of the articles of faith to get a little badge from my bishop as a kid. Those who stick around are just those who become committed to their lie, believing it themselves. The Mormon Church as an organization is great (or was, I've heard they're slipping in recent years). Mormons, as people, are fantastic. They're kind, they're hard working, they're intelligent. They form strong communities. I have nothing but respect for the Mormons, and Mormonism as a cultural and social phenomena.

The doctrines and beliefs of the religion are comical, however, and Joseph Smith was patently a con-arist. As I said, however, there are interesting things to be found, but they are smothered by the rest of the religion as a whole.

I get what your saying and understand anti Mormons reasons for why they seethe so much but if you’re comparing Christian doctrines there really is no other church who’s doctrine is as comprehensible.

Those books are not apologist books are are written mainly for members but are very good at showing why the doctrine is so solid from a Christian standpoint.

Once you get that knowledge (which is what I meant) you will be hard pressed to find another sect that makes as much sense.
