Half of the book is about traditionalism and its core tenets, while the latter half just explores some of the main branches of indian philosophy at 7 page intervals and only does so as it relates to traditionalism. It is just Guenon rambling about how the west devolved from a primordial tradition.

I don't doubt that this book was an articulate starter into Hindu concepts, for its time it was probably the least 'orientalized' look at the east but it is a very poor introduction into Hinduism since it is not really about Hinduism itself.
