At least the "content on TV is mindless shit" angle is actually accurate; hence it's counter-productive to mix that idea with bullshit that sounds ominous but is actually basic. One can manipulate a nervous system with something as simple as red vs blue light. The effects just aren't that special. One can also create a sense a dread with the right low-frequency tones . It's all working with subtle suggestive shit that is barely enough to deserve the name. And it all distracts from the bigger picture.

Although addressing manipulation by media effectively does indeed sound tricky and would ideally come from the top, because the demand for shit isn't one sided.
