why is it you can show humans their own faults, but they never recognize it?

I have to wonder what the person who made that slide was thinking.

Context for the pic?

If you show people their faults and they don’t recognize that they’re seeing a fault, then you’re either not showing them properly, or are right on the money. Personal faults exist as a function of awareness and cognition. Absence of either of these faculties are conducive to the “fault”.

tolstoy and dosto's works are relative to psychology, and frankly its a threatening depth of field to most like you. show me the psychology board that ignores people like tolstoy and dosto because their books would not be relative to their respective board and thus ironically leads me back to here

Same reason why you can show Christians, Muslims, and /pol/ migrants the beauty and greatness of the modern age but they never recognize it and instead ask what the point of modern existence is.

It could be they don't think too critically about themselves or they recognize the issue but not enough to think changing it would be good for them.

Recognizing your flaws is painful and human beings are designed to avoid pain and seek the path of least resistance

It's a Freudian concept. Self-deception has legitimate evolutionary benefits. It's kind of like a grand extrapolation of the saying, "fake it until you make it", or "where there's a will there's a way."

The quote comes from SAP, who make ERP software for keeping lists of customers and shit. I'm not going to link their website because spam but if you google the first line you can find their website pretty easily, I believe it's the first link. It's like if two linkedin profiles were to come to life and start talking to each other.
