Races exist and they differ in intelligence, but this explanation still doesn't answer the question, why there are differences in IQ between races. So geographical explanation is fine as long as we acknowledge the fact that it could lead to these differences. some places are just better to develop agriculture and then higher IQ, because of new environment and new lifestyle completely different from hunter-gathering tribes. So we basically end up with biological pressure to develop such skills which require abstract thinking.

The debate has been going on since the 19th century. The 'Aryan' hypothesis fell out of favour in the mid 20th century, mostly due to Nazis, and the meme 'pots not people', i.e. the ancient world was mostly static and nobody invaded anyone or migrated, just lived in a market place of ideas*. Ancient genomics has destroyed that idea - there were large migrations and population turnover, and in europe that came from the Steppes, not Anatolia.

Its actually a clever analogy for what you're forced to do to win, but not in the way you nor jared think. Europeans were given less to work with (intolerable winters) and had to plan ahead. Africans don't have winters, and theres no pressure to really plan ahead.

To go into further detail:
1) A group of humans migrated from Africa to what is now the Arabian Peninsula, diverging from African populations.
2) From this group, further groups migrated and diverged from those who stayed in the region of and immediately surrounding the Arabian Peninsula. Those who stayed are modeled by a population cluster named basal Eurasian (bEU).
3) A further divergence happened between groups who migrated different paths - the Eastern Non-African (so-called because it does not just include East Asians, but South Asians, Oceanians, and a large component of the Amerindians who also fall in), and West Eurasian (basically the European group proper).
4) A genetic continuum formed across Europe/West Eurasia, from Western Hunter-Gatherers (WHG) in the west, to Caucasus Hunter-Gatherers (CHG) in the east.
5) At the extreme fringes of the West Eurasian continuum, some intermixed with Northeast Asian peoples, forming some of the Siberian population groups, including many of those who then crossed the Bering Strait to populate the Americas.
6) From genotyping ancient remains, and through population genetics, a population cluster called Ancient North Eurasian (ANE) has been constructed. The ANE were not some distinct group, but just some of the people at the extremities of the west Eurasian continuum as evidenced by admixture in Siberian and Amerindian groups.
7) Meanwhile, farming n shit happened and agrarians of primarily bEU stock moved into Europe. People used to think they killed the cro-mags. They didn't, but their farming allowed them to vastly increase the carrying capacity of land vs the sparsely populated hunter-gatherers and so they came to vastly out-populate the original European hunter-gatherers. When those hunter-gatherers switched lifestyle and intermixed, in places they only contributed around 20%.
8) Meanwhile on the Eurasian steppe, some proto Indo-Europeans had adopted a pastoral lifestyle and were getting rowdy, so some of them went south of the Caspian, while some moved westward into Europe. They probably did do a bit of killing and plundering, but in time settled and intermixed. Because they came from the same stock at the eastern fringes as those who intermixed with northeast Asians, they shared an estimate 40% (iirc) heritage with the resultant Siberian populations - the heritage termed ANE.

Don't quote me on these numbers as I'm trying to remember from seeing the data years ago, but as a western Euro I wouldn't be surprised if now your heritage is around 35-40% basal Eurasian through the early Neolithic farmers, and the rest is a mix of the original western hunter-gatherer, plus some caucasus hunter-gatherer and ancient north Eurasian from the Indo-Europeans. Essentially WHG, CHG, ANE were all originally part of the West Eurasian population continuum.
