Lots of books people may be interest in, because they've seen them here may have not been translated, especially when it comes to recent and not-so-recent non-fiction books. Usually stores don't carry foreign language books as well. So if you wanted that history book by that niche medievalist you've seen over here in some infographic - good luck finding it outside of pirating the epub/pdf.

It's not "fully" shareable if you want to share the book with 2 or 3 friends simultaneously, which you can with an ereader. We're not your friends, but you couldn't share your physical copy with an anon. Lots of stores sell books with no DRM btw.

outlier scenario, I give 1 in 10 books to friends, never needed to give them to a group of people at once

>Hyperbole but the paperback copies you bought a couple of years ago will start falling apart in your lifetime.

The same as carrying a bulky copy, a notepad and something to write with. If you add a note with a number or a code (hardly difficult since it's 3 or 4 taps on the screen) you can easily cross-reference between ebook and paper. Or you could just copy-paste the txt that holds all your highlights and notes to your PC.

Furthermore, if you were interested so much in some book to take notes, highlight lines, etc. you should always buy a physical copy because it's easier to use in papers and other writings.
Nobody is pointing a gun at your head to pick one of the other. I guess understanding that this whole "debate" is a false dichotomy is not easy for the feeble minds of this modern age. Shame you haven't exacted this basic concept from your precious physical copies.

It's not and if you're this dumbass (>>16103924), yes, you're likely confusing it with PDF conversion.
I'll explain it to you again, just like I explained it over a month ago when you posted this nonsense, even though you posted zero proof of what you described.

An EPUB is basically an HTML file. If some characters in some non Latin script (like Russian or Japanese) are not display properly, it's likely due to the source EPUB having the wrong encoding tag. EPUB to MOBI conversion just changes the wrapper to Amazon's proprietary format. It doesn't do anything but a semi transparent copy paste.
If you encounter typos or wrong characters, it's also very likely the original file was not proofread properly, so it doesn't have anything to do with the MOBI or the EPUB, but rather with the editing.
If it's PDF to EPUB/MOBI conversion, then that's a whole different beast. Just install Koreader, read PDFs on a tablet or computer, or do a manual conversion through some OCR software.
Or buy the stupid physical book and stop repeating misleading anecdotal nonsense.
