I liked it. It's one of them "aftermath" type books, and I think it's a shitload better than the ones robert jordan did (i'm looking at you, Crossroads of Twilight). It showed how devastated everything was, and set all kinds of stuff in motion. The next book is gonna be fuckin' epic (if it ever happens)

It's very uninteresting. The story seems to go no where. None of the best characters from the previous books show up.

That said, i think it's pretty obvious that this is just setting us up for the next book. If you are a following the series you should probably read it. Just expect to slog through a 1000 pages not feeling all that entertained.

It's cause, if you read the bit at the end, the next book is the same exact chronology but with the characters we all know and love. Instead of cutting it in half chronologically he told the story from half the characters' perspectives.

Just finished the second in the series. What bugs me about the series so far, is jumping around from so many characters. For example, going for a really exciting plot and character, to some bullshit I really don't care about.

Many people don't like the focus on the Iron Islands,but I believe that Ironborn are fucking awsome.Ship boarding scene with Victarion,anyone?Best fight scene in the series,easily.
