No, Nietzsche is Thrasymachus or Callicles.

have you read any of them?
Also, nietzschean antiplatonism is, in fact, anti plotinism. Land's nietzsche is most antiplatonic than nietzsche.

I’ve read a bit of the Greeks, and Plato’s really grooving on me. I wouldn’t say I’m well read in the classics, though.

The beauty of nietzsche is that you can read all of philosophy through his lense and make your own interpretation. He does not refute anything, he just changes the perspective. He is the best surrogate dad I have ever had. I owe him 1/10th of my personality. He cured my vanity

childhood is agreeing with thrasymachus. Adulthood is realizing Socrates has a far more complex, engaging and ultimately correct argument to make.

I think Heidegger shows that he is, just the Platonic side of Nietzsche that Nietzsche consciously rejected but unconsciously was a great sentimentality.

Thrasymachus is practicality and Socrates is virtue. I should be more of a Socrates than I am.

>> No.15704832

Early and Mad Nietzsche is entirely Eleusinian and Platonic through and through against his own will.
It's only the Wagner dismayed Nietzsche that is a bit disingenuous.

Plato tells of the Guardians to willingly re-entering the Cave after some period.
And in the Myth of Er and Phaedrus he speaks of a descent from heaven after a thousand years up to ten thousand years.
And as Parmenides reveals:
It is all one to me where I begin; for I shall come back again there.

>> No.15705064

he and plato share the same un-belief in the "being". they are both "anti-mystic".
but the main difference remains.
for plato, truth = categories (the cat, the table, the wall, the sky), while perception = flasehood. plato is a rationalist.
for nietzsche, truth = perception, while categories = not exactly flasehood but rather poetic creations. nietzsche is a sui generis phenomenalist (he calls this: perspectivism).

I disagree. While Plato does have an un-belief in the unitive nature of being, being is ultimately realized through an understanding of a transcendent God, i.e. theologically, and possibly mystically. I haven't read Nietzsche so I can't comment too directly on his thought but I'm pretty sure he directly contradicts this.

Nietzsche's famous quote about there being no truth is directly in contradiction to the Forms.

>transcendent God
no such a thing in plato, christcuck.
plato is not plotinus. the demiurge is
1. not transcendent
2. not the creator of the ideas
3. a myth, like that of the cave or the ball-men.

>> No.15705483

that's your christcuckish interpretation. the traditional interpretation is that of the stoics (btw the stoa was and is the only legit heir of the athenian accademy) : the demiurge is the logos-nous, the rational, regular, logical structure of the universe.

Plato says nothing original. All platonists (middle and neoplatonists) explicitly wrote this and pointed that they themselves were not original as well. But we need to keep telling people on this board about it since nobody here is concerned with truth. Specially dumb posters like >>15702184, who is the archetype of /lit/poster.
