Finished the Moliere book now, overall solid collection with a couple really great ones that I enjoyed a lot, good introduction to his work, will definitely read more in the future. Now reading Dead Souls for the second time after I gave up about 120pgs in the first time roun. I've already read more in a day than I did in a week the first time I read it, enjoying it much, much more than before so I'm pretty happy about that.

The Orwell one is a load of his non-fiction, which I though was meant to be fairly well rated here, tbf though I've not got much to say about his stuff yet, I've only read Animal Farm and the Shakespeare Tolstoy essay from the book, which I did like, so far, so I can't really say much myself. I read the first part of the Rousseau last week or so, thought it was alright, some interesting stuff he's talking about, although not sure how much I'm agreeing with him on what he's saying, but then that doesn't mean his stuffs bad just cause you don't agree with it, at least it's getting you thinking and that. Haven't read any of the Hume so I'm not saying anything about that, and I read the prologue to Hyperion ages ago, really was not a fan so I left it after that, I will still give it another chance at some point, though maybe someone here can try sell me on it so I get round to it quicker.

D&G's philosophy is trying to move away from arborescence in semiotics and philosophy, particularly the sign-signified relation in Saussure (e.g. tree is always used as a stand in for the sign-signified), or the Platonic system (e.g. Plato had an Academy built near an old tree, which I'm sure D&G associated with the formation of a totalitarian state)

Enjoying D&G so far but it's reminding me a lot of Baudrillard in that they phrase ideas as annoyingly as possible. This has got to be something with the french language. They cannot somehow all be this autistic.
