As a waifufag I assure you that all attempts to draw inspiration from important artistic, philosophical or mythological figures (Dante Plato and Pygmalion respectively) require you to ignore parts of their work or reinterpret them quite drastically. The best you get when it comes to showing ones dedication is drawing, usually pornographic which doesn't help matters, and even then there's little reason for most to feel any spiritual connection or meaning in their waifus. They're just cute girls, and there's so many available that even if you're waifu isn't some mass produced gacha shit it'll still feel artificial.
