Indeed, rapture's reading lists are also dominated by secondary scholarship of the last 30-40 years, and are far from comprehensive, despite his claims or goals to the contrary.

I would encourage all anons to actually talk to the librarians at their university library - they will be able to help you put together reading lists and bibliographies tailored to your interests with more precision (and likely a larger scope as well) than a tripfag on 4chan.

Not even seething, anon. If you're going to a university, your tuition is paying for your university's library system. The librarians there are a resource to you, and there's no reason not to use them.

Oh sure, I recognize all that; I actually think Rapture's goal of having comprehensive reading lists is an impossible one, given both the ever expanding scope of scholarship on seemingly every subject, and the innumerable relations every field has to other fields. I guess it's a nice goal to read (or list) 'every piece of literature on XYZ subject,' but it's also an impossible one. Rapture putting up and taking down reading lists because they are not yet comprehensive is silly, as they will *never* be comprehensive.

The US has a weird library system. The UK has a hyper efficient and massive post colonial system that's underfunded, the UK's libraries are not like most other libraries.
